For those that know Hardcore Hardware Australia, you have probably heard of their gold brand, Halfbreed Blades. Known for providing hard use knives to fighting men and women the world over, Halfbreed Blades releases their latest, with the MIK-03.
The Halfbreed Blades MIK-03
Intended for CQB, the MIK-03 (Medium Infantry Knife) is designed as a dedicated Infantry knife. The design features of the MIK-03 are influenced by the diverse daily requirements of active-duty personnel.
The 10.43 overall length features full tang construction, out of .25-inch-thick K110 D2 tool steel. The 5.31-inch blade comes partially serrated, for enhanced cutting of rope and other fibrous materials. The saber grind helps to promote a keen edge, while robust enough to handle hard tasks.
The drop point blade features a swedge that runs approximately half its length, promoting positive penetration. Most of the remaining half of the spine features large jimping for additional control. The blade has a hard-wearing, low friction Teflon coating to assist in corrosion prevention and glare.
Just forward of the handle, with contoured G-10 scales, is a top and bottom guard. This helps to protect the hand from slipping down onto the blade. Steel torx fittings hold the G-10 handle scales of the Halfbreed Blades MIK-03 in place. A skullcrusher pommel, with two lanyard holes, finishes the MIK-03.
The Halfbreed Blades MIK-03 comes in a precision molded kydex sheath. The sheath comes with a supplied belt carry system and has eyelet holes around the perimeter for multiple other carry options, from Tek-Lok to Molle-Lok.
The MIK-03 is available now, in black, dark earth and ranger green, with an MSRP of $295.00. For more info, please visit HalfbreedBlades.com.au.
